Use Cases

The 30-40 kW tier handles the full range of office trailer electrical loads including breakroom appliances that push smaller generators past their capacity.

🏢

GC Office with Full Breakroom

Single office trailer running HVAC, computers, printers, and a breakroom with microwave, coffee maker, and full-size refrigerator. The 30-40 kW tier handles all of this at 60-70% capacity — well within the efficiency sweet spot.

🔗

Dual-Trailer Setup

Two smaller office trailers sharing a single generator. One trailer for the GC team, one for the owner's rep or subcontractor. Combined HVAC and office loads fit comfortably within the 30-40 kW range without overloading.

Larger Single Trailer with Heavy Electrical

Oversized office trailer (60-foot) with multiple HVAC zones, server room or IT closet, large-format printers, and high outlet density. Electrical loads that exceed the 20-25 kW tier but do not require 50+ kW.

Most Popular Tier

This is the most popular generator tier for construction sites with a single fully-equipped office trailer. It handles HVAC + microwave + coffee maker + fridge + multiple computers without capacity concerns. If you are not sure whether you need 20-25 kW or 30-40 kW, the 30-40 kW tier gives you headroom for breakroom appliances and future expansion without overpaying for a 50+ kW unit.

30-40 kW Generator FAQ

Yes. Two standard office trailers with HVAC and standard office loads (computers, lighting, outlets) typically draw 15-20 kW combined. A 36 kW prime-rated generator handles this at 55-65% capacity. If both trailers include breakroom appliances, evaluate the combined load — you may need the 50+ kW tier.
Prime rating is the maximum power the generator can deliver continuously for an unlimited number of hours. Standby rating is the maximum power available for short-duration peaks (typically less than 200 hours per year). Size your generator based on the prime rating, not standby. The standby rating provides headroom for motor startup surges from HVAC compressors and similar equipment.
66 dBA at 7 meters is comparable to a normal conversation at 3 feet. Inside the office trailer with doors and windows closed, the generator is barely audible. It is significantly quieter than standard open-frame generators (typically 75-85 dBA) and will not disrupt phone calls, meetings, or focused work.
The generator provides manual voltage switching between single-phase and three-phase configurations. For sites that require automatic transfer between utility power and generator backup, an ATS panel can be installed between the generator and your trailer. Contact us to discuss ATS requirements for your specific site configuration.
